Simple question - would you rather

- "Bring back the Jets" and all the great (and not-so-great) memories associated with that name

- Keep the Manitoba Moose brand (which has proven to be successful albiet likely forever synonymous with the AHL in the minds of most Manitobans)

- Come up with something new... this then gives rise to a new sub-debate - should this be a "Manitoba" team or a "Winnipeg" team?

It seems to me that if a team comes they will name it the Manitoba ________. They should branch out into rural Manitoba since we will need them anyways.

Although I'd prefer the jets.

I'm not too excited about a team being named the Jets here.
Look at the Browns...same old cr*ppy Browns.

I like the idea of a 'Manitoba' team...include everyone.
The best part of moving from Winnipeg to Calgary?

NO Westwood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

I have a feeling they are giving strong thought to the name Manitoba _______ (maybe even Moose?) as well. However, lets say IF it is the coyotes that end up moving here, Winnipeg Jets just seems to be the fit in my mind. And probably the most popular choice.

I realize we don't even know for sure if we are going to get a team yet, but those in the know say that apparently, True North is not planning on calling their team, if they get one, the Winnipeg Jets. No disrespect to True North is intended, but it would be that much better if Winnipeg Jets was the name. If you agree, please sign.

If the franchise that comes to Winnipeg is the Coyotes, they should become the Winnipeg Jets.

If an NHL team comes here by any other means, they should have a brand new name. If this is the case, the current Coyotes franchise (who I always wanted to see called the Arizona Phoenix, BTW) may hold the rights to the Winnipeg Jets name.
I wish my Gramps would have lived to see one more Bomber Grey Cup...and I'm 40 years old and I am not sure if I'll live to see one more Bomber Grey Cup.

The NHL owns the rights to the name.

I was a believer that the Coyotes were done and would be back in Winnipeg in 2011. After seing Darren Dreger on TSN last night, I just got angry over this again. Winnipeg hockey fans are being jerked on a short chain again. When Dreger urged Winnipeg fans not to worry, I just laughed. If Gary will pull every trick in the book to keep the Coyotes from coming to Winnipeg, why on earth wouldn't he do the same thing to keep teams in Nashville/Atlanta/Raleigh/St Petersburg et al.

It looks bad for us getting there Coyotes right now, but deals have been "imminent" both with Reinsdorf and Ice Edge, so nothing is over until it is over.

Winnipeg Jets.

Although if the Jets name can't be used, "Winnipeg Homocide" has a certain appeal to it.

If Phoenix returns, then Jets.

Otherwise, Manitoba Moose.

I know for a fact that a team will not be called the Jets. I got that from a TNSE staffer.
